THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Saturday, June 27, 2009.

Kenneth Ray Speas, 56, of Ames died Saturday, June 27, 2009. Services are at 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, at Adams Funeral Home in Ames. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.

Kenneth was born Sept. 16, 1952, in Marshalltown, to Clarence and Goldie (Clark) Speas. He served four years in the U.S. Navy. Kenneth married Helen Hush December 1, 1971, in Memphis, Tenn., and worked at Iowa State University, retiring due to health reasons. He lived in Huxley and Ames for the last 30 years. He was an active member of the Bahá’í faith, Disabled Veterans of America, and the American Legion, in Ames. He loved visiting friends.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Helen; son, Eric; daughter, Jessica; one granddaughter, Jenny Speas; four sisters, and four brothers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
