LaVon Marie Campbell, 78, formerly of Colo, Iowa died on Tuesday, June 2 at her daughter's home in Solon. Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 5 at the Twin Anchors Campground Community Center in Colo. Burial of the cremains will follow in the Colo Cemetery.
LaVon was born on February 19, 1931 in a home near Ringsted, Iowa to Norman and Edna (Olson) Thompson. She was a graduate of Cylinder High School. On June 19, 1948, LaVon married Kenneth Allen Campbell in Depew, Iowa. They loved to camp at Twin Anchors Campground and visit with friends and relatives. LaVon loved life and always had a smile. She was known by young and old as Grandma.
LaVon is survived by 3 daughters, Connie (Steve) Donald of Solon, Sandra Wilson of Colo, and Mary Jo (Wayne) Blessing of Zearing; 11 grandchildren, Todd (Laurie) Donald, Shannon (Eric) Stockland, Carrie Smith (Marvin) Moore, Lisa Smith (Tony) Francis, Jessica Wilson and Sean Gjerde, Jaclyn Wilson, Ian Foley, Eric Foley, Tori Blessing, Kelly (Campbell) Tonelli and Kristen Campbell; 11 great grandchildren, Kaylin and Kennedy Donald, Sydney and Campbell Stockland, Marquis, Kenny, Avery, and Kaden Moore, Darien and Amira Francis, and Cayson Gjerde; a sister, Sherry (Allen) Trantham of Midland, Arkansas; and a niece Marcia (Doug) Willard.
LaVon was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth on July 13, 1992, a son Kevin Campbell on November 17, 1995, and a brother Bobby Thompson.
Memorials:
A memorial fund has been established in LaVon's name.
Service:
Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 5 at the Twin Anchors Campground Community Center in Colo.
Cemetery:
Burial of the cremains will follow in the Colo Cemetery.
