THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Saturday, May 30, 2009.

Clifford C. Rogers, 88, of Sheldahl, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009, in Ames. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 31, at Soderstrum Riis Funeral Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 1, at Slater Baptist Church. Burial will be in Fjeldberg Church Cemetery, Huxley.

Clifford was born July 19, 1920, in Albia to Claude and Maude (Spencer) Rogers. He was a farmer and worked at the ISU Power Plant for 16 years, retiring in 1985.

He married Dora Norton, May 5, 1943. She preceded him in death in 2002. He married Violet Collins February 2, 2003, and they resided in Sheldahl.

He is survived by his children, Don and Cindy Rogers, Mary and Roger Vogel, Susan and Rob Niehoff, Charles Rogers, Jim and Carolyn Collins, Peggy and Steven Wright, Joetta Winkel, and Richard and Kim Collins; three sisters; three brothers; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and family.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dora, two brothers, Dwight and Lee; and one daughter-in-law, Marilyn.

Memorials may be made to Slater Baptist Church or Pines Christian Care Center for Children.

Soderstrum Riis Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
