Daisy G. Couser April 10, 1907 to May 15, 1994

Daisy Guthrie Couser, 87, of Nevada, died of cancer at Story County Hospital, Nevada.

She was born to Solomon Walter and Della (Tway) Guthrie in McCallsburg. On Nov. 21, 1956, she married Edward J. Couser in Fernald. She was a lifelong resident of Story County. She worked as a teacher in the McCallsburg Township and as a bookkeeper at Dillin's Department Store in Nevada. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, the Solomon Dean Chapter of the D.A.R., Eastern Star, Rebecca Circle, Royal Neighbors and WaTanYe. She recieved her certificate of education from the University of Northern Iowa.

Survivors include her stepson and daughter-in-law, Richard and JoAnn Couser of Nevada; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her niece, Marlene Thoerner; and her sister-in-law, Frieda Gurhtrie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1976 and her brother.

Funeral services were held May 19 at Central Presbyterian Church, Nevada, with Pastor Brad Braley officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery, Nevada. A memorial fund has been established. Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada, was in charge of arrangements.
