Lydia Ann Peterson McLaughlin of Boise, ID passed away May 6, 2009. Lydia Ann was born in Nevada on July 30, 1920 to Helen and John Peterson. A graduate of the class of 1938 at Nevada High School, she continued her studies at the University of Iowa, graduating in 1942 with a degree in Nursing. She married James White McLaughlin in 1942. He preceded her in death in 1993, as did their son, Jim in 1958.

Lydia Ann was a member of PEO and the Thimble Club when she and James lived in Nevada. In 1960 they moved to Idaho first settling in New Plymouth and later in Boise where Jim worked for the Idaho Statesman and Lydia Ann continued her nursing career at St. Luke's Hospital. Lydia Ann continued to be active in PEO as well as the Petal Pushers Garden Club, enjoyed playing bridge and volunteered at St. Luke's.

She is survived by her daughters Mary Helen of Boise and Dianne Kowalski of Federal Way, WA along with 3 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two brothers, John of Nevada and Bill of Mesa, AZ survive her.

Memorial services will be held in Boise with internment in Nevada at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Jerry Lewis Muscular Distrophy Foundation.
