Geneva Ida Schulz Link was born May 3, 1916, near Great Bend, Kansas, to Edwin and Ida Burgtorf Schulz. At the age of four she moved with her family to northern Arkansas and attended school at Iuka. She became a Christian at the age of 17 at a Brush Arbor Evangelistic Meeting and was baptized in the North Fork River.

In 1936 Geneva moved to Iowa with her parents.

On April 18, 1940 she was united in marriage to Richard Link in the Farrar church. They farmed north of Farrar. She was a member of the Farrar United Methodist Church and taught the Youth Sunday School Class for 25 years. Geneva loved to cook, entertain, garden, and share her produce with family and neighbors.

Geneva is survived by a son, Fred (Carolyn) Link of Maxwell; a daughter, Sharon (Don) Struthers of Collins; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; a sister: Mrs. Lydia Meyer of Sac City, Iowa; two sisters-in-law: Mrs. Cleffie Schulz of Mountain View, Missouri and Mrs. Mary Link Winslow of Altoona, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers and four sisters; her husband, Richard on August 16, 1983; a great-grandson, Erick Richard Struthers on February 21, 1997.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at the Farrar United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Farrar Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell.

Memorials may be made to the Farrar United Methodist Church and/or Gideons International.
