THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, May 12, 2009.
Virginia P. Muhlenburg, 73, of Huxley, passed away surrounded by family Monday, May 11, 2009, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Huxley, with burial following in Ankeny Memorial Gardens.
Virginia P. Muhlenburg was born Oct. 5, 1935, in Muscatine. She was married 40 years to Loren Ronald Muhlenburg. They had seven children.
Survivors include children, Bruce (Debbie) Muhlenburg, Cindy (Lauren) Border, Robert (Tracy) Muhlenburg, Brian Muhlenburg, Barry (Valaree) Muhlenburg and Brett Muhlenburg; two sisters, Larue Cole and Carol Proctor, both of Wilton; one brother, Dennis (Shirley) Riemers, of Lost Nation; 11 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Dorothy (Larue) Riemers; one brother, Raymond Sonny Riemers; one daughter, Nancy Eaton; and one great-granddaughter, Neveah Swaim.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Arrangements are being handled by Memorial Services of Iowa.
