Charles Anthony Meek, 76, of Roland passed away at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008. The family was present for a visitation beginning at 6 p.m. with a memorial service at 7 p.m.. on Monday, Nov. 24 at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

Charles Meek was born March 18, 1932 to George and Ella (Marzen) Meek in Marble Rock, Iowa. He was a plant operator for Manatt's and had lived in Roland since 1998. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards, especially cribbage.

Charles is survived by two sons, Scott (Terry) Meek of Gilbert and Kevin Meek of Boone; two daughters, Tami Wilkinson of Des Moines and Leanna (Dave) Finley of Boone; a stepson, Karl Dow of Des Moines; three brothers, Dave, Dan and Kenny Meek; and three sisters, Theresa Waters, Eileen Dykes, and Kay Ransom; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and six brothers and sisters.
