Margaret H. Twedt, 92, formerly of Roland, passed away Friday, January 30, 2009 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa. Funeral services were Monday, February 2, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland. Burial was in the Roland Cemetery. There was a visitation of family and friends one hour prior the service.

Margaret H. Twedt was born January 5, 1917 to Torger and Hanna (Wilted) Rafdal in Story City, Iowa. She and Otto J. Twedt were married August 31, 1939 in Sioux City, Iowa. They moved to Roland after they were married and Margaret was a member of Bergen Lutheran Church. Margaret enjoyed bowling and baking.

Margaret is survived by her son Ron and his wife Carolyn Twedt of Eldora; her sister, Gladys Waugh of Roland; three brothers, Elwood Rafdal of Des Moines, Don Rafdal of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Alfon Rafdal of Denver, Colorado; a daughter-in-law, Jane Twedt of Roland; two grandchildren, Karen Hohanshelt and Dave Twedt; and four great-grandchildren, Lauren, Amanda, Stephanie, and Jeremy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son Roger Twedt; two brothers, Clarence Rafdal and Albert Rafdal; and her sister Bea Howerton.
