Harris C. Tesdall, 85 of Ames and formerly of Story City died February 5, 2009 at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services were held Feb. 9, 2009 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with burial in the Story City Cemetery.
Harris Charles Tesdall was born April 11, 1923 in the Story City area to Lars and Anna (Hougland) Tesdall. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He served in the Army Medical Corps during World War II.
He married Carol Ruby Holland on March 19, 1949 and to this union three daughters and five sons were born. He lived in the Story City and Ames area all of his life working at the DOT in Ames for several years and retired in 1974.
Harris passed quietly away at Bethany Manor on Feb. 5 at 6:25 a.m. with many of his children and grandchildren by his side holding his hand.
He is survived by his wife, Carol of Las Vegas, Nevada; three daughters, Deborah Bult-Lapid of Las Vegas, Nevada, Rebecca Owen of Spirit Lake, and Carlotta Troxel of Ames; five sons, Paul Tesdall of Sac City, David Tesdall of Las Vegas, Nevada, Timothy Tesdall of Story City, Matthew Tesdall and Jason Tesdall both of Las Vegas; 35 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Abel Tesdall of Jewell and a sister, Hazel Lybarger of Story City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and ten brothers and sisters. Soderstrum Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
