THE NEVADA JOURNAL, Nevada, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, April 9, 2009.

Claude Warren Peavey, Jr. 91 of Nevada, formerly of Maxwell, died on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Story County Long Term Care. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Chet Ryan Mortuary and Cremation Services, 708 Fifth Street in Nevada with Pastor Dean Kelly officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the Maxwell Cemetery.

Warren was born on August 19, 1917 in Gueda Springs, KS to Claude and Ethel Aurie (Huffman) Peavey. On May 16, 1964, he married Marjorie Mary Zmolek. Warren retired from farming in 1995. He enjoyed farming, baseball, football, playing cards and cribbage.

Warren is survived by his wife, Marjorie Peavey of Nevada; 2 sons, Bill (Pat) Peavey of Ramsey, MN and Mike (Kelly) Peavey of Maxwell; a daughter, Mary Ann (Brad) Morrison of Collins; 5 grandchildren, Kerri Kabela, Kelly Peavey, Lauren Kappel, Whitney Peavey, and Derek Morrison; 7 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Warren was preceded in death by his father, Claude in February of 1969 and his mother, Ethel on April 13, 1984.

Memorials may be given to the Collins-Maxwell Community schools in Warren's memory.

Chet Ryan Mortuary and Cremation Services has been entrusted with Warren and his family.
