Amos A. Thompson, 91, of Story City died Sunday at Colonial Manor in Zearing of complications of Alzheimer's disease. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Mamrelund Cemetery near Randall.
Mr. Thompson, a retired farmer, was born in McCallsburg and lived in Story City most of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Selma; two sons, Lloyd and Marvin, both of Story City; four daughters, Avonelle Hefflefinger of Ames, Dorothy Shepherd of Geneva, N.Y., and Barbara Olson and Shirley Anderson, both of Story City; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at the church, where the family will meet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
