THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, April 3, 2009.
Lorraine Anderson, 81, of rural Nevada, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 6, at First Evangelical Free Church in Ames. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Arlington Cemetery near Villisca.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 5, at First Evangelical Free Church in Ames.
Lorraine was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Red Oak, to Orville and Ruth (Richards) Law. She married Calvin Anderson on Feb. 11, 1951. She worked in the Cass County Treasurer’s office and at the Atlantic News Telegraph and Red Oak Express. Lorraine enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, games shows and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They moved to rural Nevada in 1999 from Atlantic.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Calvin, of rural Nevada; two sons, Duane (Lisa), of rural Nevada, and David (Joann), of Atlantic; a daughter, Ruth Muller (Richard), of Park Forest, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Law (Betty), of Grape Vine, Texas.
She was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
Soderstrum Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
