Miss Stagner Dies Thursday at Home Here

Miss Marguerite Stagner, 41, resident of Ames for 26 years, died at her home, at 627 Twelfth street at 4 p. m. Thursday. She had been in ill health for several months.

Born in Lancaster, Mo., Sept, 27, 1894, Miss Stagner came with her parents to Ames in 1914. She attended Iowa State college, receiving her bachelor of science degree in 1926 and master of arts degree in mathematics in 1932. She was a member of Pi Mu Epsilon, honorary mathematics society, and active in the Church of Christ here, where she assisted for several years in the music programs. Until recently she had been teaching in schools in South Dakota.

There are no immediate relatives surviving. Dean Helen Tappan of Western college, Oxford, O., a close friend, will be here for the funeral services, which will be held at 3 p. m., Saturday from the Adams chapel, with the Rev. Jack Finegan, pastor of the Church of Christ, in charge. Burial will be in the Ames cemetery.
