THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, March 20, 2009.

Erik Roy Hegstrom, 55, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, in Broomfield, Colo., of pancreatic cancer. Memorial services were March 15 in Broomfield.

He is survived by his wife, Nancie; daughter, Lauren; stepdaughter, Jaimee; mother, Maridee; sister, Morley; and brother, Trey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. George J. Hegstrom, of McFarland Clinic, in 2002.

Erik graduated from Ames High School and the University of Northern Colorado. As a certified gemologist, he worked for a jeweler in Broomfield.

His joyous humor and friendly embrace will be missed by all.
