Nancy Cora [Cook] Meyer - March 18, 2009
Nancy C. Meyer, 68, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital, Iowa Falls, Iowa. Funeral services for Nancy C. Meyer will be 2:00 pm Saturday at the Abundant Life Chapel, Dows, Iowa. Private burial will be at a later date. A time of visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at the Linn's Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls. Memorials may be directed to the family c/o her husband: Donald Meyer 495 Hwy 65 N, Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126.
Nancy Cora Cook was born February 1, 1941, at Mc Callsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Maude [McMurray] and Arthur Cook. She graduated from the Zearing High School with the class of 1959 and attended the Ellsworth Community College, Iowa Falls receiving an Associate Degree. On January 21, 1961, Nancy was united in marriage to Donald Lavern Meyer at Iowa Falls, Iowa. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, bike riding, and camping with her husband. Nancy had a very strong faith and was actively involved in her church, the Abundant Life Chapel. She was involved with Campers for Christ, Child Evangelism Fellowship, Christian Women's Club, Iowa Falls Prayer Chain, Endtime Handmaidens, and her church.
Nancy C. "Nana" Meyer is survived by her husband of 48 years: Donald Meyer of Iowa Falls; their children: Julia [Jeffrey] Forgy of Dows, Iowa, Joan [Dennis] Barrick of Iowa Falls, Christopher [Teresa] Meyer of Iowa Falls, Betsy [Chris] Jess of Alden, Iowa; her grandchildren: Joseph, Jonathan, Rebekah, and Naomi Forgy of Dows, Nicole [DJ] Steen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jennifer Olson of Iowa Falls, Nicholas, Nathan, and Chelsea Meyer of Iowa Falls, Luke, Joshua, and Cora Jess of Alden, Stacy [Abbey] Barrick, Jason and Ryan Barrick of Alden; three great grandchildren: Madison, Andon, and Jaelyn Barrick of Alden; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Maude Cook; one son: Nicholas Alan Meyer; an infant brother: David Cook; and two sisters: Mona Sweet and Joan Borchert.
There were a lot of things that were important to Nancy; but the most important was Jesus.
