PAUL KNUDTSON OF ROLAND IS DEAD

ROLAND-Paul Knudtson, 75 years old, a pioneer businessman of this place, died at his home here about 11 a. m. Tuesday. He been in falling health for several months but had declined more rapidly since an operation in February.
A native of Norway. Mr. Knudtson came to Iowa as a young man, first to Hardin and Cherokee counties and later to Roland. For 35 years he operated a blacksmith shop here and for the past 13 years had been employed at the Farmers Cooperative elevator here. He bad been able to continue at work until about the first of the year.
Mrs. Knudtson died in 1931 and since then Mr. Knudtson had made his home with a son, Ben H. Knudtson, whose wife took care of her father-in-law thruout his illness. Other survivors are a son, Carl of Blue Earth, Minn., two brothers, Herman of Roland and J. A. of Ames, and a sister, Inger Alne of Norway.
Funeral services probably will be held at Salem Lutheran church, of which Mr. Knudtson was a member, but details have not been completed.
