THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, March 12, 2009.

Peggy Ann Beach-Nelson, 58, of Nevada, died Sunday, March 8, 2009. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. A dinner in her memory will be at Dorcas Hall in Cambridge immediately following the service.

Peggy Nelson was born March 12, 1950, in Greeley, Colo., to Darold and Beverly Weatherman. She grew up in Cambridge and graduated from Ballard High School. She married Leland Beach on Jan. 1, 1968.

She was a caregiver for five years to mentally disabled children. She was an avid reader and a political enthusiast. She was very proud of her Native American heritage.

She is survived by two sons, Jason Beach, of Huxley, and Tristan Nelson, of Nevada; three daughters, Kari (William) Toney and Catlyn (Jason) McNamara, all of Las Vegas, and Sunni Nelson, of Nevada; two grandchildren, Brittany Toney, of Ankeny, and Devan Toney, of Las Vegas; one sister, Lora Weatherman, of Waukee; one brother, Edward Weatherman, of Des Moines; and her former husband, Leland Beach, of Las Vegas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Darold Weatherman; and one sister, Darla Holveck.
