THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, March 5, 2009.

Harold D. Dolling, 87, of Ames, passed away in his sleep Sunday, March 1, 2009. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Collegiate United Methodist Church, 2622 Lincoln Way, in Ames.

Harold retired from the Iowa Department of Transportation as chief landscape architect for roadside development. He was a member of the Polk County Soil Conservation Commission, the Toastmasters and a 55-year member of Collegiate United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.

He will be missed by two sons, David and Roger; and one daughter-in-law, Maria.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Betty Jean and Mary Dolling.
