David R. Hornung, 66, of Ames, Iowa, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009, at the Select Specialty Hospital, Gulfport, Mississippi. Funeral services for David R. Hornung will be 10:30 Friday, February 27th at the Church of the Open Bible, 408 College Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa, with Pastor Herb Kenyon officiating. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls, Iowa. A time of visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday evening at the Linn's Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls Iowa

David Ralph Hornung was born August 10, 1942 at Hubbard, Iowa the son of Grace E. [King] and Ralph G. Hornung. He attended the Alden and Iowa Falls Community Schools. David served several tours with the United States Army. David was an over-the-road truck driver for Roadway for over 30 years.

David Hornung is survived by his wife: Erin L. [Eggers] Hornung of 311 21Street, Ames, Iowa, 50010. His children: Kelly Hornung of Pass Christian, Mississippi, Kimberly Weddle of Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, Elaina Hornung of Pass Christian, Mississippi, Ben [Missy] Hornung of Diamond Head, Mississippi; one granddaughter: Ruby Hornung of Pass Christian, Mississippi; his mother: Grace Hornung of Iowa Falls, Iowa; his sister: Connie [Bill] Anderson of Pass Christian, Mississippi, and Brother: Ronald [Kathleen] Hornung of Iowa Falls, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father: Ralph Hornung.
