HENRY L. CARRELL FUNERAL TUESDAY

Funeral services for Henry L. Carrell, 75, president of the Des Moines Building Loan and Savings association, who died Saturday at his home in Des Moines, were held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from a funeral home there. Burial will be in the funeral home depository.

Mrs. Carrell, a member of a pioneer Story county family, was a daughter of the late Dan McCarthy, and is a sister of Mrs. C. G. Lee of Ames now wintering in Brownsville, Tex., and Mrs. T. L. Rice of Ames. She was seriously ill at the Methodist hospital at the time of her husband's death but has now been taken to her home.

Altho not in the best of health, Mr. Carrell had been continuously active in his various business interests and had been at his office Friday.

Mr. Carrell had lived in Des Moines since the early 1890's being engaged in real estate, abstracts and loans from that time to the
present.

Born in Illinois. Mr. Carrell came with his family to Washington, Ia., when a boy. Later his family moved to a farm in Dallas county where he grew to manhood. After graduating from the Adel high school he studied law in Adel law offices and was admitted to the bar.

After practicing for several years in Nevada, he came to Des Moines to become auditor of an early building and loan association.

Surviving besides his widow is Ross M. Carrell of Des Moines, three brothers and two grandsons.

Attending the services from Ames were Dr. and Mrs. Rice, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. McCarthy. Mr. and Mrs. Dan McCarthy and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Merrick.
