MARTIN LUND FORMER SEAFARING MAN DIES
Martin Lund, 76, a resident of Ames for 34 years, died at his hone at 1014 Third street at 11 p. m. Monday. He had been in ill health for about one mouth.
Born in Norway May 24, 1859, Lund, as a sailor on Norwegian vessels, went all over the world. He was married to Miss Matelda Johnson in 1900 in Norway. In 1902 the couple came to the United States and lived in Brooklyn, New York, for several months before moving on to Ames. Mr. Lund worked for the railroad here for many years.
Mr. Lund's wife is the sole survivor.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P. m. Wednesday in the Adams chapel, with the Rev. Amos W. Stolen, pastor of the Lutheran church, in charge. Burial will be in the Ames cemetery.
