Carroll Dunahoo, age 73, died Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral service was Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada. Cremation followed Wednesday's service. Memorial gifts may be sent to Mrs. Flora Dunahoo at 1603-10th St. Lot 28 in Nevada, Iowa 50201.

Carroll Lloyd Dunahoo was born March 2, 1935 in Iowa Center to Lloyd Edgar and Alice Fern (Beal) Dunahoo. Following graduation from Zearing High School in 1953, Carroll entered the National Guard. On July 16, 1954, Carroll married Flora Deloris Imsland at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. They farmed near Zearing for 43 years and moved to Nevada ten years ago. Carroll also drove trucks when he wasn't busy with farm work. Recently, Carroll and Flora transferred cars for local car dealerships. Carroll enjoyed his time with family and playing cards.

Carroll is survived by his wife, Flora of Nevada; his children, Bruce (Nancy) Dunahoo of Zearing and Kim (Keith) Nicholas of Colo; grandchildren, Wendy, Josh, Brittney, Becca, Morgan, Alex, Martin, Donnie, Brock, and Kayla; great grandchildren, D.J. and Andrew; and his brother, Kermit (Diane) Dunahoo of Dexter. Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Norma Jean Dunahoo, and his son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Linda Dunahoo.

Chet Ryan Mortuary and Cremation Service in Nevada has cared for Carroll and his family.
