A. Diana Wells, 80, of Nevada, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at Story County Long Term Care. Her body has been cremated, and there will be no public services. Private burial of the cremains will be in Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Diana was born on Aug. 18, 1928, in Nevada to Earl and Ruth (McConnell) Kirkendall. She married Garry Wells Nov. 1, 1947, in Nevada.

She had been employed with Donnelley Marketing and retired in 1987 from General Bank. She loved hunting mushrooms and finding rocks. She also enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels, and painting.

She is survived by her husband, Garry Wells, of Nevada; two daughters, Cindy Stiles, of Haverhill, and Debbie Wells, of Omaha; three grandchildren, Dana Dennis, Jessica Dittmer and Jennifer Stiles; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Kirkendall, of Elyria, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings.

Chet Ryan Mortuary and Cremation Services has been entrusted with Diana and her family.
