Hans A. Hanson, I. H. C Drafting Room Head,Dies

Hans A. Hanson, 49, superintendent of the women's drafting room at the Iowa highway commission for 26 years, died at 5:30 p. m. Monday at his home at 922 Fifth street. He had been seriously ill for two and one-half weeks. Death was attributed to carcinoma.

Born in Norway Feb. 1, 1887, Mr. Hanson game to the United States with his parents when one and one-half years old. He was graduated from the Rock Rapids high school and attended the University of Iowa. He was employed for a time by the Milwaukee railroad at Lewiston, Mont., and came to Ames as superintendent of the women's drafting room in 1914.

He married Tesse Ryan of Cambridge June 20, 1914.

Surviving him are his wife, a daughter, Nadine; three brothers, Knut and Gilbert, at Rock Rapids; Ole, at Beresford, S. D.; five sisters, Linda, Mrs. Moeller and Mrs. Zeug, at Rock Rapids, Mrs. I. L. Dunhand, San Diego, Cal., and Mrs. C. L. Anderson, Jacksonville, Fla.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday from the Adams chapel, with the Rev. Walter A. Morgan of the First Methodist church in charge. Burial will be in the Cambridge cemetery.
