THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, November 25, 2008.

Thomas Aller (Chimera), 64, passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at his West Des Moines home. Per his request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

Thomas graduated from Des Moines Technical High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving at posts in Hawaii and Saigon, Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1967 as a photographer's mate, petty officer third class.

In addition to his skill in photography, he was a multi-talented artist and throughout his life produced many beautiful works in many mediums, sharing them with family and friends. He loved the outdoors, visiting the Rocky Mountains and the American West many times.

He is survived by one son, Robert; one daughter and son-in-law, Cyndi and Mark Kerslake; two granddaughters, Rachel and Kaitlyn; one sister, Jane; former wives, Mary Akers and Margaret Roetman; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Geneva Aller; and one brother, Robert.

He will be missed very much by family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Health Home Hospice.
