Death of Mrs. Nancy HeinrichIt was with genuine sadness that people of the community learned of the death of Mrs. Nancy Heinrich, which occurred at 12:15 Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Blanche Harrington, in Des Moines. She was loved by all who knew her, and her passing will be mourned by the entire community.
Short prayer services were held at 1:00 Tuesday afternoon at the A. F. Heinrich home in Maxwell, followed by services at 2 o'clock in the Collins Methodist church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Charles J. Fix, assisted by Rev. Judson T. Perkins, pastor of the Maxwell Methodist church.
Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. Curtis Marsh, Mrs. C. R. Stone, Clark John and J. R. Witmer, the pianist being Mrs. Hugh Fertig. Songs were "In the Garden," "No Night There" and "Under His Wings."
Mrs. Ora Hanson and Mrs. J. E. Hale had charge of the beautiful floral offerings and the ushers were O. N. Serbein and S. W. Inman.
Pall bearers, members of the American Legion, were A. W. Kracht, Dewey Kern, C. E. Fish, C. R. Stone, L. D. Holland and J. R. Armstrong. Internment was in Collins Evergreen cemetery.
The following brief sketch of the life of deceased was read at the services:
Nancy L. Mosier was born in Mosiertown, Pa., Jan. 11, 1858, the second daughter of David and Elizabeth Mosier.
She came with her parents at the age of nine to Blairstown, Ia., where she grew to womanhood.
In the year 1880 she was married to Oscar F. Heinrich. To this union were born three children: Alfred of Des Moines, Blanche M. Harrington of Des Moines and Arlo F. of Maxwell. They came to Story county in the year 1895. Mr. Heinrich passed away Feb. 27, 1920.
In October of last year she went to Des Moines to spend the winter with her daughter, where she passed away Feb. 26, at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 15 days.
In addition to the above named children, she is survived by four grandchildren, all of whom were in attendance at the services. They are: Mrs. Wm. Hennies of Manley, Ia.; Mrs. Clifford Lamzou of Waukon, Ia.; Harold Harrington of Austin, Minn., and Floyd Harrington of Marshalltown, Ia.
