Kenneth M. Johnson, 53, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at his home in Ames. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Kenneth was born Feb. 26, 1955, in Ames, the son of Richard M. and Doris J. (Nixon) Johnson. He married Marianne Sowers on April 11, 1981, in Colo. Both he and his wife had worked at Donnelley Marketing in Nevada. He was employed by Hach Chemical.

He enjoyed horse racing, blackjack, cars and trucks.

He is survived by his wife, Marianne, of Ames; one son, Brad Johnson, of Nevada; two brothers, Douglas Johnson, of Nevada, and Jeff Johnson, of Conrad; one sister, Sherry Johnson, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and one aunt, Carolyn (Bob) Strong, of Jacksonville, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dwight David Johnson; and one brother, Terry Johnson.

Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
