Carl Paulson, Ames, Killed in Crash Fri.
Funeral services for Carl M. Paulson, 65, 322 Lincoln way, who was killed Friday night when his car crashed into a culvert five miles north west of Ankeny, will be held at 2:30 p. m. Monday from the Lutheran church here. The Rev. Amos W. Stolen, pastor, will be in charge of the services. Burial will be in the Ames cemetery.
Martin Thompson, Huxley, suffered serious injuries in the crash and was taken to a Des Moines hospital. Dr. William Carpenter, Polk county coroner, after visiting the scene, said he believed the car skidded in the loose gravel.
Mr. Paulson was born in Allamakee county in 1870. He farmed near Watertown, S. D., for 17 years, after which he farmed in Missouri for three years. He came to Ames in 1915 and operated a grocery store on Lincoln way near Washington avenue for a number of years.
At the time of his death Paulson was operating an oil station at Huxley, but maintained his residence here. He was a member of the Ames Lutheran church.
Surviving him are his wife and three sons, Melvin, Herbert and Neal, all of Ames.
