Selma Scott, 88, of Ames, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008. Services are pending with Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.

Selma Scott, 88, of Ames, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at Riverside Manor in Ames. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Burial will follow in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Selma Scott was born Oct. 31, 1919, in Ames, to Bently and Anna Lande. She married Leo Scott on Oct. 7, 1935. She was retired from Iowa State University.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Sutherland, of Ames; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Manning, of Clarion, and Elsie Carlson, of Fort Dodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two children; one great-grandchild; and three brothers.
