THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, September 23, 2008.

Lydia Koth, 92, of rural Alta, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at home. Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 18, at St. John Lutheran Church in rural Alta.

Lydia was born March 27, 1916, in Hay Creek, Minn., to Erwin and Emma (Horn) Langhans. She married Harvy Koth Sept. 7, 1940. She was a director of church choirs all her professional life and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Harvey; three children, Paul (Donna) Koth, of Alta, David Koth, of Alta, and Lois (Lynn) Theesfield, of Ames; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
