MAT AUSTREM OF GILBERT IS DEAN

GILBERT— Mat Austrem 45, died at his home here Monday evening about 10 o'clock of heart disease. He had been in poor health for about a year and a half. No funeral arrangements have been made.
Mr. Austrem was born at Thor, Ia., January 25, 1885. In 1907 he was married to Martha Peterson and came to a farm near Gilbert. Three children were born to this union. They are: Howard of Hardy, La Verne of Gilbert, and Mrs, Ray Watts of Gilbert. Mrs. Martha Austrem died June 4, 1915.
In October 1923, Mr. Austrem was married to Julia Severeid of Story City. Three sons were born, Robert 5, Richard 3, and Curtis 1.
One brother and four sisters also survive. They are: J. M. Austrem of Adams, Minn.; Mrs. J. Hansel of Hardy, Mrs. S. S. Askelson of Gilbert, Mrs. O. D. Adams of Steele, N. D.; and Mrs. M. S. Walker of Centuria, Wis.
