David Lee Begg, 31, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, in Denver, Colo., as a result of a brain aneurism. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Napier United Methodist Church, 1595 Xenia Drive, in Ames, with visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. and fellowship following the service.

David Lee Begg was born June 22, 1977, in Ames, to Gary Lee and Mary Anne (Richards) Begg. After attending United Community School, graduating from Ames High School, and attending Des Moines Area Community College and Iowa State University, he moved to Steamboat Springs, Colo., where he worked at Dos Amigos Restaurant for 10 years. While in Steamboat, he became part of the close-knit Steamboat family. In 2007, he moved to Denver where he continued working at Slattery's Restaurant. He made friends wherever he went, and many, many love him and will miss him.

He is survived by his parents, Gary and Mary Anne Begg, of Boone; one sister, Michelle Begg, of Mesa, Ariz.; his grandmother, Mary V. Richards, of Nevada and formerly of Ames; many dear aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives; and many beloved friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Swedish Medical Center, Donor Alliance Inc., or David Begg Memorial Fund.
