NEVADA - Ronald "Terry" Darrah, 78, of Nevada, died Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Ronald was born May 16, 1930, at Tabor, Iowa, the son of Warren and Ruth (Gonzales) Darrah. He was united in marriage to Patricia Brown on December 18, 1951 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Ronald served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a Route Salesman for Hiland Potato Chips before retiring in 1992. He was also co-owner of the Hartzer House Restaurant in Nevada for 9 years. He was a member of the American Legion.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Nevada, Iowa; 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Neal (Lora) Darrah of Glenwood, Iowa, Jerry (Carla) Darrah of Nevada, Iowa; a daughter and son-in-law: Leora (Ray) Darrah-Jarnagin of Nevada, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother: Frank Darrah of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and 4 sisters: Nancy Handly of Nemaha, Nebraska, Elizabeth Bingham of Brownville, Nebraska; Merrilee (Dan) Hartzer of Cambridge, Iowa, and Susan (Butch) Pontow of Beloit, Wisconsin.
Ronald's parents preceded him in death.
Private Memorial Services were held Sunday at the Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada, Iowa.
