CHILD AT STORY CITY DIES AFTER OPERATION
STORY CITY — Dorothy Baldus, 6, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Baldus of LaFayette township, died Wednesday evening about 10 o'clock at the Story City hospital. Dorothy would have been seven years old next Thursday. She was brought to the hospital Sunday evening and an emergency appendicitis operation was performed. Gangrene was followed by bronchial pneumonia. Last week Dorothy had the measles.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. Peter and Paul's church near Gilbert. The Rev. Father A. Gorman will be in charge. Burial will be in the Roman Catholic cemetery west of Story City.
Besides her parents, eight brothers and two sisters survive. They are Mary, Cecilia, Throdore, Lawrence, Alfred, Leonard, Edward, Frances, Joseph and James. Two brothers preceded Dorothy in death.
Dorothy was in the primary grade of the LaFayette township school.
