Edythe Frette, 100, of Ames, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008. Arrangements are pending with Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Ames.

Edythe S. Frette, 100, of Ames, died Thursday, Aug. 21 at her home. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25 at Bethesda Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel Wight-Hoogheem officiating. Burial will be in Roland Cemetery.

Edythe S. Frette was born April 12, 1908 in McCallsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Jacob and Susan (Nerem) Hill. She married Pete Frette on June 8, 1932 at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland. She graduated from McCallsburg High School and earned her teaching certificate from Ellsworth College, later becoming a teacher before becoming a homemaker and farm owner in Northern Iowa. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Roland, and an associate member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames; Bethesda Circles; Ames Women's Club and TTT. She was also a 20-year Sunday School teacher and superintendent, president of Salem Ladies Aid, and president of Music Mothers.

She is survived by her daughters, Evon (Frank) Trcka of Ames and Helene (Terry) Adams of Ames; her son, Joel (Sheri) Frette of Burnsville, Minnesota; ten grandchildren, Sue Taege, Frank E. Trcka, Patty Taylor, Kathy Auel, Lisa Simonson, Brian Frette, Lindsey Frette, Dave Adams, Angie Weber and Carol Majors; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers, Joe, Morris, Jewell and Walter; and four sisters, Selma, Anna Mae, Clara and Gertie.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24 at Bethesda Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be directed to Bethesda Lutheran Church.
