Lavone Malcolm, of Ames, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Arrangements are pending with Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

LaVone Maxine Malcolm, 80, of Ames, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at Adams Funeral Home, with Rev. Fred Lewis of First United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be one-half hour prior to the service.
LaVone Maxine Malcolm was born Oct. 25, 1927, in Ames, to Cleo and Agatha (McKenna) McColly. She was a 1945 graduate of Ames High School. On Nov. 2, 1947, she married Dale Malcolm, of Kelley. To this marriage came their daughter, Annalesa.
LaVone worked for Wilson Transfer Co. for many years before working at Job Services in Ames, from which she retired. She and Dale spent many winters in Texas until they bought a place and spent many more years until last year because of her health.
She is survived by her husband, Dale; daughter, Annalesa (Jim) Drummond; granddaughters, Nichelle (Shane) Hall and DeAnne (Mark) Hoefer; great-grandchildren, Madison and Isaac Hall; and step-great-grandson, Dylan Hoefer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Agatha McColly; great-grandson, Elijah Hall; and many aunts and uncles.
Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
