Carolyn Jeanne Anderson, 74, formerly of Collins, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at Allison Care Center in Allison. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. today at Collins Christian Church, 303 Main St., in Collins, with Pastor Scott Jones officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Collins.

Visitation with the family was Monday, Aug. 4, at Collins Christian Church.

Carolyn Jeanne Anderson was born June 11, 1934, in Story County, to Thomas and Irene (Dodd) Stratton. She graduated from Collins High School. She retired from Donnelley Marketing. She also worked as a dispatcher for the Story County Sheriff's Department. She enjoyed watching Hawkeye basketball and baking sugar cookies and cinnamon rolls for other people.

She is survived by one son, James William (Sherry) Anderson, of Carlisle; one daughter, Jo Lee (John) Cordes, of Allison; one brother, Ronald (Margaret) Stratton, of Collins; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a stillborn daughter, Terry Lynn in 1957; and a granddaughter, Katy LouAnn Cordes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Ronald McDonald House or hospice.

Chet Ryan Mortuary and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
