Jacqueline (DeFayette) Hansen, 38, of West Dundee, Illinois, went home to be with God on Saturday, July 5, 2008 as the result of a car accident.
Jaci was born October 20, 1969 in Sandusky, OH, the daughter of Robert and Helen (Heintz) DeFayette of Gettysburg, PA. Her mother was formerly from Nevada. Jaci was raised in Damascus, MD and St. Charles, IL.
She was formerly employed by Spiess Department Store of St. Charles, IL; Rob & Stuckey Interior Design of Naples, FL and Phoenix, AZ, and Zuirks Interior Design of Elgin, IL. She married Erik Hansen on February 14, 2002, in Las Vegas, NV. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church of West Dundee, where she was a CCD teacher. She also was a volunteer and a cheerleader coach at the local elementary school. She will be remembered as a happy, compassionate person who loved her family, her flower garden, interior design, cooking, and her pets. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, Erik; children Sydney and Samantha Wilson; step-children Payton and Preston Hansen; her parents; brothers Robert (Debra) DeFayette of Aspers, PA; Paul (Cathy) DeFayette of Durham, NC; John (Ilaria) DeFayette of Parma, Italy; sister Michelle (Shannon) DeFayette of Silver Spring, MD; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pete (Faith) Hansen of Burlington, IL; sisters-in-law Ingrid (Dennis) Head and Emily (Marc) Martinez; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceeded in death by her twin sisters, Ann Marie and Amy Michelle DeFayette; her paternal grandparents, Wilfred and Mary DeFayette; maternal grandparents Ed and Minnie Heintz; two uncles, David S. Heintz and Adrian Heintz; and on aunt, Madeline (DeFayette) Ives.
A funeral mass was held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee, IL. Internment was private. Arrangements were made by Miller Funeral Home of West Dundee.
