Eleanor J. Aves, 88, of Melbourne, died June 16, 2005, at State Center Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at New Horizons United Methodist Church in Melbourne, with Pastor Elsa Lawry officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the New Horizons United Methodist Church, with the family present during this time. Estel Perrin Avey Funeral Home in Marshalltown is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be directed to New Horizons United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son Dan and companion Dorothy Wetzold of Little River, S.C.; grandson Joel (Tammy) Woods of Cantril; great grandchildren Raedon, Jierra, Bryton and Bethany Woods; brother Roger (Dolores) Horn of Marshalltown; and niece Jane (Lloyd) Coughenour of Colo.
