Edward D. Armstrong Buried at Collins Wednesday Afternoon

Collins, Oct. 3 - Edward D. Armstrong, 62, eldest son of the late Albert and Elsie Armstrong of Collins, was buried in the family lot in Evergreen cemetery on Wednesday at 2 p.m. The deceased was born in Collins township and grew to manhood in this community. He passed away in Sioux City Monday and the body was brought to Collins for burial.

Short services were held at the grave by the Rev. Lloyd Patton.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Maude Ryan of Mason City and Mrs. Warren Ayers of Des Moines, and one brother, Bert, of Marshalltown. Also two nephews and on niece survive.

Mr. and Mrs. Warren Ayers of Des Moines, and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Armstrong of Marshalltown accompanied the remains to Collins.

Edward D. Armstrong, son of A. G. and Elsie Armstrong, was born in Collins, Ia., on October 21, 1880, and departed this life from Sioux City, Ia., September 26, 1942, at the age of 62 years, 11 months and 5 days.

Besides his many relatives and friends, he leaves to mourn his passing two sisters, Maude Ryan of Mason City and Ethel Ayres of Des Moines, and one brother Albert, of Marshalltown.

Mr. Armstrong grew to manhood in the Collins community, and although his later years were spent away from here, his friends remember with pleasure the friendship of other years, and join the family in their bereavement.

Graveside services were conducted Wednesday afteroon in Evergreen cemetery by the Rev. Lloyd Patton, pastor of the Church of Christ.

Pall bearers were: Walter Holmes, Wm. Carver, Hans Hanson, Chas. Vasey, Art Torry, E. E. Jones.
