THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Sunday, July 13, 2008.

Dean Frederick Schreiner, 70, of Stillwater, Okla., died Friday, July 4, at Stillwater Medical Center. Funeral services were Wednesday, July 9, at University Heights Baptist Church in Stillwater.

He was born Nov. 9, 1937, in Wellington, Colo., to Alexander and Bertha Schreiner. Dean attended Wellington Primary schools until moving to Fort Collins, Colo., where he graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1955. He married the "the love of his life," (Doris) Earline Hodges, on June 10, 1960, in Fort Lupton, Colo. He attended Iowa State University and earned a master's degree in Agricultural Economics in 1963 and his Ph.D. in 1967. He taught at Oklahoma State University from 1958 until 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Earline, of Stillwater, Okla.; sons, Chris, of Dallas, Texas, and Craig and wife, Janatha, of Tulsa, Okla.; and grandson, Lucas, of Tulsa, Okla.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in his name to ArrowHawk Camp and Conference Center, PO Box 206, Anadarko, OK, or to HOPE Transplant Support Group, c/o Integris Baptist Medical Center, 3300 NW Expressway St., Oklahoma City, OK, 73112.
