THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, July 10, 2008.

Robert G. "Bob" Billings, 93, died Thursday, July 3, at home in Fort Wayne, Ind. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 11, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 611 W. Berry St., in Fort Wayne, Ind., with calling one hour prior.

Born in Platteville, Wis., Bob was a regional sales representative with Potash Co. of America for 35 years, retiring in 1983. He volunteered for many years at Fox Island Park and Lutheran Hospital. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Billings, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three daughters, Margaret B. Hassett, of Philadelphia, Toni Houghton, of Olympia, Wash., and Mary Billings, of Seattle, Wash.; two sons, Robert G. Billings Jr., of Phoenix, and James T. Billings, of Brattleboro, Vt.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Smith Billings.

Memorials may be given to Trinity Episcopal Church or St. Mary's Soup Kitchen.
