Jacob "Jake" Hughes, 25, of Hubbard, died Sunday of motorcycle accident near Iowa Falls. Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Grace United Church with the Rev. Don Preston officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery RR, Ames.
Jacob "Jake" Hughes was born Sept. 21, 1974, in Story City, to Charles K. and Donna (Smouse) Hughes. He lived in the Story City area until moving to Hubbard. He graduated from Roland Story High School in 1993, and has been employed as a mechanic for Ryerson Implememt of Nevada. He married Jennifer Tedrick on Oct. 4, 1997, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Story City.
Jake is survived by his wife; one daughter, Kelsey Hughes; his parents, Charles and Donna Hughes of Story City; his grandparents, Jake and Ethel Smouse of Coon Rapids; Mabel Hughes of Story City.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Kenneth Hughes.
Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today with the family present from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Soderstrum-Larson Funeral home in Story City. Soderstrum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
