Paul Steven Sowers 1947 - 2002

Paul Steven Sowers, 55, of Easton, Maryland died Thursday morning August 22, 2002 at Easton Memorial Hospital of an asthma induced heart attack. A memorial service was held Tuesday, August 27, at the Easton Church of the Nazarene in Easton.
Paul Sowers was born August 6, 1947 in Story City, Iowa, the third child of Albert Wilbur Sowers and Eda Anne (Johnson) Sowers. The Sowers were a farming family and as a youth, Paul was active in 4-H and FFA. After high school, Paul attended Iowa State University and studied dairy sciences and briefly served in the Air Force Reserves. He ran the family farm and in 1969 married Jane Marlene Frisk (currently Jane Pritchett of Easton). Their first child, Heather Jo, was born in 1972. Following the birth of Dwight Martin in 1976 the family moved to St. Charles, Minnesota where Paul and Jane ran a large dairy farm. In 1982 the family moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland where Paul worked as a herdsman and an agricultural feed consultant. A third child, Brent Kevin, was born in 1984; Paul's first marriage ended in 1986.
Paul later married Karen Maria Cotton and the couple ran a feed consulting business and also a contracting business. To this union a daughter, Renah Pauline, was born in 1989 followed by a son, Bradley Austin in 1995. After his second marriage ended, Paul continued working in the construction field. He enjoyed playing cards and board games with his family and had a life long love of all animals, especially cats.
Survivors include his five children; Heather of Missoula, Montana, Dwight of Catonsville, Maryland, Brent of Easton, Maryland, and Bradley and Renah of Denton, Maryland. Also surviving are his mother Eda Sowers and sister, Ann Deaton, both of Augusta, Wisconsin; a sister, Beverly Anderson of East Lansing, Michigan; close friend Barbara Witt of Temperanceville, Virginia; eight nieces and nephews; and 13 grand-nieces and nephews.
