Ralph E. Brodie, 73 of Nevada, died Wednesday, April 13, 1983, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o.m. Saturday, April 16 at the Nevada United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Nevada Cemetery.
Ralph Brodie was born on Nov. 2, 1909 to William and Rose (Guge) Brodie in Maxwell. He attended school at Milford and Fernald.
He was married to Doris Frey on March 16, 1935 in Nevada. He had farmed for most of his life in Milford Township before retiring and moving to Nevada in 1974.
He was affiliated with the Nevada United Methodist church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 99 in Nevada. He had also served on the Nevada School Board and was active in the Farm Bureau.
He is survived by his wife, Doris of Nevada; one son, Duane Brodie of Nevada; one daughter, Doradene Thompson of Roland; one brother, John Brodie of Nevada; four sisters, Mrs. Jennie Christy of Nevada, Mabel Larson of Huxley and Mary Bond and Roselma Hanson, both of Ames; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
