Effie Danskin, 97, of Nevada, died Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Long Term Care, Story County Hospital, Nevada, where she had lived for the past five years.
Born Aug. 25, 1882 in Story County to James and Harriet Douglas Danskin, she graduated from Colo High School in 1900 and was a lifelong resident of Story County.
Miss Danskin farmed near Colo and lived in Nevada for the past 50 years. She was a member of the Nevada Baptist Church.
Survivors include 11 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Ernest Danskin; and two sisters, Martha Cravens and Sibyl Danskin.
Services will be Thursday, Oct. 18 at 1:30 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada, with Rev. Daniel Osterhout officiating. Burial will be in Colo Cemetery.
