Paralysis Claimed Victim in Milford Farmer.

William S. Hughes was born Nov. 14, 1853, in Wayne county, Indiana, and died at his home in Kelley, Feb. 6, 1911, aged 57 years, 2 months and 22 days. The funeral services were held Thursday at the Congregational church in Kelley and at Pleasant Grove, where he was laid to rest. His parents came to Story county when he was two years old, and settled in Milford township, where he lived until 1901. He then moved to his farm two and one half miles west of Kelley. In June 1908 he moved to his present home. He was united in marriage to Sarah Sowers, March 11, 1877, at Pleasant Grove, Milford township. He has been in poor health for the past three years. Last July he had a stroke of paralysis and was very poorly for two months and never entirely recovered. January 27 the second stroke came and he lingered for nine days. He was a kind husband and loving father. He leaves a wife and three children, Charlie, Guy and Grace, two grand children, two sisters and two brothers to mourn their loss.
