PIONEER WOMAN WAS LAID TO REST
Mrs. Joseph Anderson Passed Away Following Surgical Operation.

Mrs. Joseph Anderson, the aged mother of Carl Anderson, of Ames, died Thursday at Mercy hospital in Des Moines, where she had been taken for an operation for removal of a cancer of the stomach. Death followed the operation. The deceased was about seventy years of age and was a pioneer resident of the county, having lived at different times in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood and near McCallsburg. The remains arrived at Ames Thursday evening and the funeral services were conducted from the Christian church Saturday afternoon at two o'clock. Interment was at the Pleasant Grove cemetery. Her husband had been deceased for many years and she had made her home with her son, Carl.
