George R. Sowers, 79
Native of Story County

Funeral services were held Monday for George R. Sowers, 79 who died suddenly last Thursday evening in his home here from a heart attack. The Grace Church was filled to capacity with friends and relatives from the neighboring communities.
Pallbearers were Arvin and Andy Nelson, Miller Gertsen, Jeffery Jacobson, Casper and Silas Thompson.
Those coming from a distance for the service included Clare R. Sowers of Rantoul, Kans.; Mrs. Frank Peikert of Orono, Maine; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Montgomery and Robert of Mason City; Dr. and Mrs. J. H. Sowers and daughter of Buffalo Center; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Boyes, Mrs. H. G. Chalfant and Mrs. Irven Myhre of Nevada; Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Carey, Mrs. Sadie Sowers, William Sowers and Mrs. Walter Matson of Ames; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Yarger and Mr. and Mrs. George Ballard of Lake Crystal, Minn.; Mr and Mrs. C. O. Dotson of Armstrong; Mr and Mrs. C. L. Sanders of Graettinger; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rinehart of Early, Dorothy Sowers and Mrs. Alta Ballard from Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Bielefeldt of Rolfe, Mr. and Mrs.Art Bielefeldt of Waterloo, Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Borts of Ames, and others from Ames, Gilbert, Nevada and Roland.
Memorials were given in his memory amounting to $110 to various missions and benevolences.
